Description:
This drama follows three generations of a family working a farm in rural France. The aging Noel takes pride in a lifetime of labor on the land. His son Marc now shoulders the farm's responsibilities and mounting debts, struggling under the pressure. Marc’s son Nicolas is unsure of his future, lacking interest in farming but uncertain of his own potential. When Marc learns he must destroy the herd to prevent Mad Cow Disease, he is overwhelmed and takes his own life. Noel is devastated and enters retirement. Marc’s wife finds work as a cashier, while Nicolas searches for employment and a captivating, enigmatic woman he gave a ride to.
