Description:

This drama follows the friendship of three men in Dubrovnik, starting just before World War II. One is Italian, another a wealthy shipping heir, and the third the son of a Jewish antique dealer. They are close friends, enjoying life together at festivals and a fencing club. But the war changes everything when Italian and German forces establish the Independent State of Croatia. The Italian friend embraces fascism, marrying the sister of his wealthy friend. As atrocities escalate, anyone suspected of Jewish, Serbian, or anti-fascist ties is targeted for death.
