Description:
This film follows a young Catholic girl as she navigates a shifting Spain, from her confirmation day into adulthood. Her first encounter with the complexities of Spain occurs when her Jewish godfathers are unable to attend her confirmation. One of them later challenges her innocence with a ring, placing her in peril. He reappears, subtly introducing her to a new boyfriend. Whether he represents Jewish life under Franco or a complex blend of Judeo-Christian traditions remains ambiguous. As she matures, the young woman experiences various relationships while also feeling responsible for her father's financially demanding lifestyle. This generational divide hints at the contrast between Spain’s past and present, leaving the interpretation of these elements to the audience.
