Description:
"Bread and Circuses" is a comedy with a nostalgic look at socialist Yugoslavia on the verge of change, hopeful for a better future. The Novak family from Velenje is randomly selected to appear on a televised family quiz. The mother and daughter are excited, but the father and son are less enthusiastic, particularly because the show coincides with carnival. Their journey to the TV station is disrupted by a police encounter, and they're further bewildered by costumed performers. Things become complicated as they meet the quiz moderator, Jos Bauer, and discover the TV station is very different from what it seems. The experience challenges the family's values.
