Donnybrook (2005)

Davie Szyanski is a high school student grieving his mother's death. His father, Ron, a former musician and athlete who lost his job in the steel mills, takes a janitorial position at a prestigious prep school to give Davie a better education. The school exposes them to a world that creates distance between them. Davie starts lying to fit in, clinging to a dream of rock stardom despite lacking talent. Through their shared losses, they learn that their bond is what truly matters.
