Description:
This film uses stop-motion animation from still photographs to explore the intersection of politics and science during the nuclear age. Scientific progress empowers humanity to achieve unprecedented feats, with both positive and negative consequences. Politicians either secretly control scientists or exploit scientific advancements for their own agendas, particularly in the space race. Ordinary objects and people are depicted launching skyward – often as rockets – followed by famous landmarks like the Empire State Building, the US Capitol, the Washington Monument, the Eiffel Tower, and the Kremlin, all visually representing the competition to reach space.
