Description:
Singer Heironymus Merkin, nearing middle age and famous worldwide, recounts his life through musical performances on a beach for his young children and elderly mother. His many relationships with women are detailed, notably with Polyester Poontang and the young Mercy Humppe. Merkin is consistently accompanied by Goodtime Eddie Filth, a man who seems like the devil incarnate, and an angel who interjects with jokes to mark significant events in Merkin's life. At times, Merkin breaks character to express frustration with the unseen director, screenwriters, producers, and a group of unimpressed critics who find the story too sexually explicit and lacking in narrative.
