Description:
Leo Popper is a content family man in rural Bohemia as the Nazi invasion approaches. Driven by financial need, he relocates his family to the city and becomes a successful vacuum cleaner salesman. There, he has affairs, meets boxers and artists, and plots to buy a pond for his fishing hobby. When the Nazis take over, the lightheartedness fades – he loses his pond, his job, and ultimately, his family.
