Description:
In 1026, students from western China are forced to join the army of Crown Prince Li Yuanhao of Xi Xia, who aims to control the Silk Road. One student, Zhao Xingde, gains favor with his commander, Zhu Wangli. While attacking a fortress, Xingde encounters Tsurpia, a Uighur princess, and hides her. They fall in love. Sent away for further study, Xingde leaves Tsurpia in Zhu's care, but returns to find she is promised to Li. Tragedy ensues, and Xingde and Zhu make a pact to seek revenge when Li arrives in Dun-Huang, the region’s center of learning. Despite facing great challenges, they devise a unique way to commemorate their lives and love.
