Description:
Following a dispute between their father and local soldiers, Anju and Zushio are compelled to flee, but are captured and sold into slavery. After their mother's death, they are sold to Sansho the Bailiff, a brutal man who inflicts terrible suffering upon them. When Anju falls into a lake, she is transformed into a swan. Zushio escapes and, after being adopted by a nobleman, matures into a young man. He eventually joins the fight against the evil Dayu, determined to liberate all the slaves.
