Egan's debut film is a unique exploration of transforming written language into an auditory experience. "finger petals" is a cameraless work, created through collage, where flowers are meticulously cut and arranged on the filmstrip to form the visuals. The film's sound is generated by pasting e.e. cummings' poem "somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond" onto the film, using the letters themselves to create the audio as their shapes are translated into sound.
