Mania (1974)

Professor Brecht, a respected scientist, conducts secretive experiments in his isolated villa. He aims to make the human body easier to heal while in a state of apparent death. He shares his home with his wife Lisa, his twin brother Germano, the waitress Katia, his assistant and student Lailo, and the young Erina. After discovering Germano's affair with Lisa, Brecht plots to kill Germano and assume his identity. The revelation deeply affects Erina, leaving her mentally impaired. Brecht’s relentless torment of Lisa drives her to madness. Meanwhile, Lailo wanders the villa grounds, desperately searching for answers. A psychiatrist, Louis, believes Lailo's distress stems from emotional turmoil and anticipates her recovery. However, he is mistaken: the woman murders Katia before tragically ending her own life. Brecht reclaims his original identity, but his actions unleash further tragedy.
