Le Créateur (1999)

Darius, a celebrated playwright, battles alcohol addiction after his first play becomes a hit. Now sober, he returns home to discover his producer has already arranged the theater, cast the lead actress, and set the premiere date without consulting him about the script. Facing writer's block and a looming deadline, Darius' life spirals when he accidentally kills his neighbor's cat. Devastated, he tries to take his own life but wakes up to find the opening of his new play appearing on his computer. As he writes, Darius becomes convinced that killing animals fuels his creativity.
