Description:
Eastern Europe, 1944. In a Jewish ghetto, Jakob Heym accidentally overhears a German radio report detailing the Soviet Army's advance into central Europe. To dissuade his friend Mischa from taking dangerous risks for food, Jakob lies, claiming he has a radio – an act punishable by death within the ghetto. News of Jakob’s secret quickly spreads, igniting a spark of hope and giving people a reason to live. Jakob is then faced with the growing need to fabricate more and more stories.
