Transatlantic (2023)

"Transatlantic" is a historical drama miniseries set in 1940s Marseilles, telling the true story of a group of determined people who created an underground rescue operation. Against the backdrop of World War II, two Americans lead efforts to save famous artists, writers, and scholars from the growing threat of European oppression. The series is based on Julie Orringer's novel 'The Flight Portfolio', which explores the real-life Emergency Rescue Committee operating in Marseilles, Spain, and Portugal after the fall of France in 1940. The story includes real people from that era who were helped by or connected with the committee. "Transatlantic" premiered at the Series Mania festival in March, closing the event, and then released on Netflix on April 7th, 2023. It highlights an incredible period in history and demonstrates the strength of people working together in the face of hardship.
