The Beast Player Erin (2009)

In a war against neighboring nations, the Grand Duke’s army relies on powerful, dragon-like beasts called Touda. These creatures are revered throughout the country, and villages take immense pride in breeding them. Erin lives in one such village with her mother, Soyon, the nation's top beastinarian. But life is complicated: Soyon is also an Ariyo, a member of the Mist People – a race feared by humans for their mystical powers. To remain in the village, Soyon must expertly capture and train Touda. Meanwhile, Erin dreams of becoming a beastinarian herself, but she feels compassion for the Touda and senses there's more to them than anyone realizes. Can Erin pursue her ambition while questioning the traditional methods of handling these powerful creatures?
