But their investigation takes a dramatic turn when the time machine's power source vanishes, abruptly severing the portal and leaving Harper stranded in the past alongside two generations of her ancestors: her great-uncle Sam and great-great-grandfather Elijah. Meanwhile, back in the present, her great-grandmother Daisy must find her own way forward.
