Description:
In Tokyo, Kakeru was once a top high school runner, but now he's forced to steal to survive, constantly running from the law. He's saved by Haiji, a college student and runner, who believes in Kakeru's potential. Haiji convinces Kakeru to join the residents of a rundown apartment building, "Chikuseisou," in their ambitious plan: to train for and compete in the Hakone Ekiden Marathon, Japan's most coveted university race. Kakeru soon learns that most of his new teammates are total beginners – except for Haiji. This puts him in the position of mentor, as they all unite, driven by a shared passion and determination to achieve their goal.
