Description:
"Fame," which aired from 1982 to 1987, was based on the 1980 film of the same name. The series expertly blended drama and music to depict the lives of students and teachers at a fictional performing arts high school in New York City. Heavily inspired by the real Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, it realistically portrayed the intense atmosphere of competitive arts education. While most interior scenes were filmed in Hollywood, California, exterior shots (with the exception of season three) were shot on location in New York City. The show became hugely popular, especially in the UK, leading to successful music careers for the cast and live tours. Although the series ended, some cast members briefly achieved further fame after its cancellation. In 2008, a reunion special called "Bring Back...Fame" aired in the UK, offering a look at what happened to them years later.
