Description:
Over three summers in a small Texas town, the story follows two teenage girls: Kate, the popular girl, and Jeanette, once a quiet outsider. From 1993 to 1995, the series explores popularity, betrayal, and difficult choices. A shocking event – Kate's abduction – rocks the community and changes everything for both of them. Jeanette experiences a surprising shift as she gains popularity. The series questions what true friendship means and how people will protect their social status. Set in a close-knit town where everyone knows each other’s secrets, it examines the complexities of relationships. As the summers progress, Jeanette's rise to fame becomes a burden, eventually leading to her being rejected by the community. The series examines how easily public opinion can change and the pressures of fitting in. This raw look at human nature and growing up challenges viewers to consider their own beliefs about right and wrong and the pursuit of ambition.
