Description:
In a world covered by endless sand, the Mud Whale is a floating haven for people with special powers called saimia – abilities that both help and endanger them. Fourteen-year-old Chakuro works as an archivist, carefully recording the lives of everyone on the Whale. It's their only home, but curiosity leads him and his friends to explore other islands, unaware of anyone else beyond their community. That changes when Chakuro meets a girl from an island as large as the Mud Whale itself. Their meeting sets Chakuro on an unexpected path, forcing him to question who he is and opening his eyes to a vast world beyond the safety of the Whale.
