Description:
Celebrity Deathmatch is a claymation series known for its over-the-top depictions of celebrities wrestling in brutal matches that often result in gruesome deaths. Created by Eric Fogel and originally airing on MTV, the show featured exaggerated blood and cartoon violence. Each episode pits famous figures against each other in a wrestling ring, leading to comically horrific injuries and fatalities. The series premiered with pilot episodes in 1998 and ran for 75 episodes until 2002, with a special airing in 2001. Professional wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin provided guest commentary. MTV planned a feature film adaptation in 2003, but the project was canceled. The series returned in 2006 on MTV2 as part of the "Sic 'Em Friday" block, debuting with season five to over 2.5 million viewers – the highest-rated season opener in MTV2 history.
