The Odyssey
1/10 by Arjun July 24, 2026
Frustration on the "bizarre" and immersion-breaking casting choices—such as Elliot Page and Lupita Nyong'o—stating that Hollywood completely stripped away Odysseus's legendary tactical brilliance in favor of thin writing and modern ideological changes.…

The Rip
8/10 by Dr Nostromo July 24, 2026
82/100 After a drug task force gets a tip on a money stash, that turns out to be over $20 million, they find themselves under siege. Being as Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are good friends, it was fun to see them together and they dominated the screen in every scene they were in with the help of a tremendous supporting cast. The story keeps you guessing as to what is really going on, even to the point where the cops seem inept and confused, and the final reveal is gold and changes everything. It was tense, gritty and occasionally explosive and we absolutely loved it. -- [DrNostromo.com](https:…

Passenger

Initially this movie draws you in. But after that I think it becomes more predictable and less creative. I would give this a 6.5/10. Still worth a watch.…

Incredible how low and fast Ti West has sunk. He's gone from directing some of the best horror movies to acting as a rehabilitator for rapists and wifebeaters who can't act for shit. (Playing drunk is not acting.) The Hollywood boy's club has been trying so hard to bring back Johnny Depp as if the whole world does not know he's a 3-judge, 12-count, adjudged wifebeater and ra\*\*st who, by the way, is also a p\*\*\*phile (look up how old Winona Ryder was when Depp groomed her into a "relationship") with a long history of violent and criminal behavior. I'm not surprised though cause most of the …

Starts out good but gets weirdly bad, at least to me. Concept is interesting but it was unexpectedly slow and I lost interest in the plot.…

Silo
5/10 by misubisu July 24, 2026
**Score: 5/10 — A Promising Foundation Crumbling Under Its Own Weight** I would have given Season 1 an 8/10. It was a compelling mystery box scifi series, character forward, claustrophobic, and packed with enough WTF intrigue to keep you hooked. There was an expectation that Season 2 would build on that momentum and elevate it to a 9. That didn't happen. And Season 3? Only two episodes in, and the disappointment is already crystallising. **What Worked (Once Upon a Time):** Season 1 was a genuine discovery. The world-building was meticulous, the mystery of the silo was gripping, and…

The Odyssey

One of the biggest insult to human intelligence. Nolan has done everything in his power to disintegrate the world, the word and spirit of Homer's poem. Nothing of the message has remained. Even Emily Wilson spurious translation of the Odyssey upon which it seems to be based has condemned the movie by saying that Nolan seemed only interested in shaming the character but no interest in his glory. Listing all this errors would be an endless exercise. But what stroke me is the preposterous commitment of errors so vast that once you stop for a second you realize that they were 100% intentional and …

Backrooms
4/10 by >jaws_ July 22, 2026
**3/10** - Maybe if it was a YouTube video it would've been respected more. Not sure why some reviews say that this is "faithful" and "not just jumpscares", because that's not fully accurate; It very much operates like a standard A24 horror movie. That's not to say that they do a bad job, but you can tell that this was made by, and made for, people that grew up with FNAF and the backrooms themed cheap game adaptions. It's pretty unrelated to the concept of the backrooms from the original 4chan postings. Sure, the writers may have tied in some deep easter eggs here and there that somewha…

**Score: 3/10 — An Engaging Walk to Nowhere** I don't like movies that go nowhere, don't make any sense, or lack an actual ending. And *Backrooms*? It's the poster child for all three. I feel like I've wasted a part of my life that I will never get back... time that could have been better spent watching a different movie. The concept is solid. Kane Parsons, the 20-year-old director behind the viral YouTube series, brings the internet's favourite liminal space nightmare to the big screen. Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Clark, a failed architect and struggling furniture store owner who discovers a…
