The fighter pilot interviews conducted for this documentary/promotional short were also published in a book, _Tumult in the Clouds_ . I read the book first, which mentioned this film. That led me to track down **Out of the Sun** on DVD. The DVD cover art is pictured here - a release by the now defunct East West DVD.
Note that the description on the DVD case is completely misleading - this is not an in-depth documentary about the F-16 fighter jet. While it was a promotional video created by General Dynamics to market the F-16, that aircraft only makes token bookend appearances at the sta…

Remember the start of "Galaxy Quest" (1999) when a group of actors are drafted in to help rescue the universe from a nasty megalomaniac bent on intergalactic domination? Well, this time it's poor old "Johnny Cage" (Karl Urban) who's the past his sell-by-date Thespian reluctantly recruited by "Lord Raiden" (Tadanobu Asano) to help save the Earth realm from certain doom. He is to join four other somewhat sceptical fighters, all with various skills, to combat the five soldiers of "Shao Kahn" (Martyn Ford) who has been hitherto indestructable as the princess "Kitana" (Adeline Rudolph) can attest h…

If you saw Mark Jenkin's "Enys Men" then you might have an idea what to expect in this similarly photographed and styled mystery. This time, it's a Cornish fishing boat called the "Rose of Nevada" which has a reputation mired in suspense that serves as the focal point. It requires a crew of three and those consist the enigmatic captain (Francis Magee), "Liam" (Callum Turner) and "Nick" (George MacKay). The latter needs the money after his attempt to fix the leaky kitchen roof left him and his family with a man-sized hole. The outgoing charmer "Liam" is something of a mysterious young man, too,…

"Lourenço" (Marco Pigossi) had come to America from Brazil to be with his boyfriend, but when that man absconded without so much as a text message, leaving him on his own, he finds himself having to come to terms with the prospect of leaving the very gay friendly Provincetown and returning to a provincial homeland where he lives with his devoutly Christian mother to whom he isn't "out". He makes a living working for the slightly flaky "Bob" (Sean Mahon) cleaning holiday lets and lives in a small bungalow in the garden of "Scott" (Bill Irwin) who has recently lost his husband and who fancies hi…

Political leaders often don’t rise to that level of power without the strategic scripting concocted for them by the little-known kingmakers behind them. And that’s what this fact-based, though satirically fictional, political thriller about the rise of Russian president Vladimir Putin (Jude Law) seeks to chronicle. The film tells the story of professional political fixer Vadim Baranov (Paul Dano), who rises from art school student to television producer to “the Czar’s” righthand man, doing whatever it takes to promote and ensure the power of his boss after the resignation of President Boris Ye…

Sudha Kongara's Soorarai Pottru is a rousing, exuberant film about the cost of disrupting entrenched power, and what it takes to drag an entire industry, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century. Inspired by the life of Captain G. R. Gopinath, founder of India's first low-cost airline, the film follows Nedumaaran Rajangam, called Maara (Suriya), a determined man from a remote village who dreams of making air travel affordable for ordinary Indians. What begins as a David-and-Goliath story about breaking aviation monopolies becomes something richer: a portrait of systemic corruption, governm…

_**A FABULOUS CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE**_
No matter how many times you watch it, the movie gets even better if you're a Michael Jackson fan. It offers a fast-paced look at the early life of the King of Pop without making it rushed. Basically tells how he became the King of Pop and what it took him to become that famous globally, including the abuse by his father and struggles with his lost childhood and appearance.
Despite enjoying Bohemian Rhapsody more in terms of its length and structure, Michael still offers a fresh look at his life, though a Bohemian Rhapsody structure would've made it …

Kevin Hart makes a return to Netflix with a brand new competition show. With the assistance of his comedic peers - Kumail Nanjiani, Chelsea Handler, Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Segura and Nikki Glaser - Kevin sets out to find the next voice of stand-up comedy by awarding the winner with their very own Netflix special.
The premise of the show is admirable and you feel the h[e]art behind it. However, there are obvious tweaks that need to be made in season two.
_Tweak 1._ Sketch Comedy
During their journey in the show, the fin…

Kiss Sixth Sense is a sweet romance with a supernatural flair. I enjoyed it a lot. The only thing I didn't like is what they did in the last episode. That ruined the otherwise interesting story a bit for me.…

This is by no means a waste of time. It is a fun, whimsical, engaging story about kids doing their best, with parents interfering with their duty to protect the planet. The writing is ok, the casting great, the directing and effects certainly good enough.…
