Description:

"The Unlikely Champion" is a comedy-drama about Roque Gonzalez, a lazy man living with his friend Federico. Federico, a former jockey trying to return to racing after losing weight, owes Roque a life debt from when they were children. At the gym where Federico trains, everyone is talking about Botija Kid, the Spanish welterweight champion who needs to defend his title to qualify for the European Championship. With no one willing to fight the champion, Federico, Roque, and the gym owner Paco devise a plan for the reluctant Roque to step into the ring against Botija Kid. Inspired by "Rocky," the film explores friendship, loyalty, and overcoming challenges through humor and touching moments, as Roque transforms from a freeloader into an unexpected boxing contender.
