WONDER WALL (1980)

This film explores obsession through two connected stories. One follows a serial killer who steals gourds and the detective trying to catch him, creating a suspenseful chase. At the same time, we see a film director whose work reflects the killer's actions. The director’s character, Ueoka, closely resembles the gourd thief. As the detective pursues the killer, the director’s art reveals deeper insights into the killer’s motivations and the connection between art and real-world behavior. The film asks us to consider the relationship between art, crime, and how they influence each other. Through these interwoven stories, it presents a compelling look at obsession and the darker side of human desires, prompting reflection on the power of stories.
