Description:
Wild Man Blues offers a personal look at Woody Allen’s deep love for New Orleans jazz and his commitment to playing with his New Orleans Jazz Band. Directed by Barbara Kopple in 1998, the documentary follows Allen's 1996 European tour, highlighting the actor-director’s clarinet playing, which he has practiced for more than twenty years. The film is a musical journey and a peek into Allen’s personal life, including his relationship with Soon-Yi Previn, which was publicly seen for the first time. As Allen and his band travel through European cities like Paris and Berlin, the film captures their performances of classic jazz pieces and shows Allen's characteristic humor and charm both during and outside of their concerts.
