Description:

In a close-knit town, Carla Zachanassian and Serge Miller were once young lovers. Their relationship fractured when Serge refused her marriage proposal, leading to Carla's banishment. She rebuilt her life, becoming a wealthy businesswoman. Years later, she returns to the town, met with both admiration and distrust. The townspeople are puzzled by Carla's sudden wealth, unaware of her true purpose. She has come for revenge against Serge, whom she blames for the difficulties of her past.
