Description:
Private Meredith Bixby has struggled to succeed in the Army, with basic training stretching to 17 months due to his difficulty fitting in. WAC Major Shelton, a psychologist, assigns Corporal Dolan and Private Stan Wensalawsky to mentor Bixby, but they both have personal reasons to make his life difficult, leading to problems and delays. Exasperated, Sergeant Pulley sends Bixby to Morocco for a fresh start. During his time off, Bixby meets Zita, an alluring singer-dancer. He becomes captivated by her and dreams of a future together, ignoring the cultural differences. This story follows Private Bixby's journey of self-discovery, love, and overcoming challenges as he deals with military training, relationships, and unrealistic expectations while abroad.
