The Miser (1990)

Arpagone, a frugal moneylender, plans three weddings to save money. He meticulously organizes his own wedding and those of his two children. But the young people involved have their own ideas about their futures, creating conflict with their controlling father. While Arpagone tries to find wealthy partners for his children, he ignores the power of love. Unexpected events lead the young couples to each other in unforeseen ways. The story contrasts true love with Arpagone’s desire for financial gain. As they face challenges, the characters learn that love and family are more valuable than money.
