Description:
In 1933, a rural village is disrupted when the mayor announces that irrigation water will now be shared equally between the villagers and Mahmoud Bey, the wealthy landowner. This news initially brings hope to the peasants. However, Mahmoud then proposes a new project requiring a portion of their farmland. The community sends Mohamed Effendi to government officials to plead for protection of their rights against Mahmoud's growing power. The story unfolds as a compelling account of resilience, political maneuvering, and the fight for fairness in a time of transformation.
