The Kids Are Ok (1980)

Kenny and Jill, two teenagers, struggle with their parents' failing marriage. Their family's breakdown affects them at school, distracting them with unresolved feelings. They keep their raw emotions hidden from each other, despite witnessing heated arguments and their mother’s sadness. A year later, with the father absent and a feeling of being stuck, they divide weekends between two homes. The situation becomes more complicated when the father introduces his new friend, Doreen, disrupting the family's fragile equilibrium and reigniting tensions.
