The First Draft (1980)

The First Draft is a documentary following a gay anti-war group in Paris, Ontario. It explores their fight for equality and against war as Canada reinstates mandatory military service while excluding gay people from joining. The film shows the challenges of creating independent media within a mainstream culture, using raw, unpolished visuals and unconventional music to highlight their struggle.
