Description:
Kenzo Okuzaki, a 62-year-old World War II veteran who fought in the New Guinea campaign, undertakes a personal quest to understand the truth behind disturbing events from one of the war's fiercest battles. As part of a trapped Japanese unit, Okuzaki carries painful memories of atrocities committed by his fellow soldiers under extreme duress. Seeking to comprehend the emotions that fueled these horrific acts, he interviews surviving veterans and their families. His investigation reveals a complicated mix of guilt, fear, loyalty, and humanity surrounding the mysterious killing of two Japanese privates in his unit.
