The Contract (1982)

Inspired by Chekhov's "The Wedding," *The Contract* explores arranged marriages and societal pressures. The film centers on a traditional wedding where the bride and groom barely know each other, their families' expectations driving their union. Just before the ceremony, the bride hesitates, but the groom's father, a doctor focused on social standing, continues with the lavish reception.
