The Children of Chance (2016)

In Nazi-occupied France, young Maurice Gutman's family is marked for deportation to a death camp. A broken leg provides a temporary reprieve, leading him to a hospital where Dr. Daviel diagnoses tuberculosis and proposes a prolonged treatment, possibly to protect him. For two years, Maurice lives with the hospital staff, forming strong bonds with eight other young patients who have also been affected by the surrounding turmoil. This story explores friendship, unity, and courage as these children face incredible hardship, becoming symbols of hope in a time of darkness.
