Description:
Set in early 20th century Hokkaido, this film follows a community of settlers battling to survive on the challenging land. The Shimakawa family faces tragedy when Yura and her son Taichi are killed by a bear that doesn't hibernate. Seeking justice and safety, Mikio Shimakawa forms an uneasy partnership with Ginshiro, a respected but isolated hunter in the village.
