Following his wife's death, psychologist Henk battles grief while trying to rebuild his relationship with his son Renier. Both men struggle with their emotions; Renier expresses his pain through anger and denial. At his wife's funeral, a long-held secret surfaces: Henk once leaked the 1990 matric exam paper. This revelation triggers an investigation that forces the graduating class to decide whether to retake the exam or forfeit their certificates. As old classmates react with anger, Henk seeks Renier’s help navigating the crisis. But as the situation worsens, he faces a difficult choice that tests love, forgiveness, and redemption.
