Smokey and the Judge (1980)

This comedy-drama from the 1980s follows three ex-convicts – Margo, Carol, and Maria – as they try to achieve their dream of becoming R&B singers. After getting out of prison, they get a chance to perform at a lively bar in the desert and are determined to succeed. But their new start is threatened by a dishonest sheriff, a questionable judge, and an interfering parole officer who all try to stop them. These strong women must fight through the challenges of small-town life to prove they can overcome anything and make it big.
