Skrallan, Ruskprick and Gurnard (1967)

A group of children from Seacrow Island's visit to a relative turns into an unexpected adventure when they discover she's in the hospital. Stranded and wanting to go home, they try to row back using the ferry's oars, but the oars disappear. They're forced to seek refuge on a deserted island and encounter two quirky smugglers. While stranded, the children learn about bravery, teamwork, and problem-solving. Skrallan, the youngest at four, helps them make friends and discover new things. Working together, they overcome challenges and build lasting bonds as they try to return home.
