In 1901, pioneering filmmaker R. W. Paul and director Walter R. Booth adapted Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol for the screen. Filmed in black and white 35mm at Paul's Animatograph Works, this silent short is a significant moment in cinema history. Divided into twelve scenes, the film effectively conveys the narrative through imagery and Dickens' memorable characters.
