Description:
Kenneth Anger's six-minute film, *Puce Moment*, originally from the unfinished project *Puce Women*, takes us to the glamorous 1920s flapper era. The film opens with a captivating scene of flapper dresses on a rack that magically come to life, dancing to Verdi opera (later a psychedelic folk-rock soundtrack in a 1960s release). The story focuses on Yvonne Marquis, a refined woman wearing a distinctive purple puce gown. She attends to her appearance, applying perfume, before relaxing on a moving chaise lounge that transports her to a peaceful patio. As she prepares to walk her elegant Borzoi dogs, the film creates an enchanting atmosphere.
