Parvaz dar ghafas (1980)

In a society where happiness is valued, Maryam, Lord’s daughter, and Sohrab, Saadat's son, unexpectedly fall in love. Their growing feelings are challenged by societal barriers. Their relationship is threatened when they are both arrested. Saadat, wanting to protect his son, demands Sohrab end the relationship, even hiring people to watch him. But Sohrab refuses and ignores his father’s warnings. Maryam's father blames his wife and daughter for supporting Sohrab. Unable to cope with the pressure of their forbidden love, Sohrab and Maryam flee their homes to be together. Unknowingly, they eat poisoned food intended for stray dogs. Facing a tragic fate, they find comfort in each other, living together on a carousel – a symbol of their enduring, bittersweet love that defies convention.
