Maslenitsa (2027)

Polina, a driven student hoping for an internship in China, is disheartened when she doesn't get it. Her plans change when Xiaoming, a Chinese student, joins her university and wants to learn about the Russian Maslenitsa festival. Polina makes a deal with her professors: if she can introduce Xiaoming to Maslenitsa, she'll get the internship. But she breaks her leg just before the festival starts. Facing another disappointment, Polina relies on her friends and ingenuity to help Xiaoming experience the holiday. Her friend steps in to help showcase Russian traditions. Through this shared experience, Polina and Xiaoming both learn about adapting to new situations, trusting others, and the connections that exist beyond cultural differences.
