Never Weaken (1921)

The film follows a man secretly in love with a woman who works in the next office. Hoping to help her boss, a doctor, gain patients, he convinces an actor friend to pretend to be injured so the doctor can showcase his treatments. As word spreads about the doctor's seemingly miraculous cures, his fame grows, and the protagonist believes he has a chance with the woman he loves. But when he discovers she is engaged to be married, he is heartbroken and resolves to take his own life. The story then becomes a series of tense, unsuccessful suicide attempts, depicting a deeply emotional journey of despair and sorrow.
