My Dearest (1980)

Seven years after their divorce, Jeanne has created a peaceful life with her fifteen-year-old daughter Sarah. They share a close relationship built on trust, evident when Jeanne accompanies Sarah to get contraceptives. However, beneath this comfortable surface, underlying tensions exist. Jeanne finds temporary comfort in a relationship with Pierre, but still feels lonely. Sarah, meanwhile, is increasingly unhappy with school and yearns for independence from her mother. The film explores their complicated emotions as both woman and daughter try to balance love, the challenges of growing up, and the desire for individual freedom.
