Description:
Willy Krueger, a lonely widower and building custodian, finds his solitary life punctuated by fleeting moments of holiday spirit each Christmas Eve. While buying a tree, he briefly imagines himself as a sophisticated man in a shop window. Later, dozing to carols, he dreams he's conducting the choir. When real carolers sing outside his window, Willy invites them in, but their song leaves him wanting more. Decorating his tree with a memento from the carolers, he’s transported to the first Christmas, becoming a shepherd in the nativity scene. This experience reminds Willy of the importance of connection and offers him a chance to find meaning and companionship after a life of isolation.
