The Blimp-Maker (2016)

For forty years, Igor Pasternak has dedicated himself to a unique idea: creating massive airships to transport goods to remote areas. He started an airship club in Ukraine as a student and later founded an airship design bureau at university. He eventually moved to Southern California and established Aeros, a company building blimps for various applications. In 2013, his prototype cargo airship, the Dragon Dream, was destroyed when its hangar collapsed. Undeterred, Pasternak is now developing a fleet of "Aeroscraft" cargo airships, with the largest planned to be over nine hundred feet long and capable of carrying five hundred tons. Pasternak recently spoke with director and producer Gabe Polsky, whose documentary "Red Army" premiered at several major film festivals in 2014 and was released in theaters in 2015.
