For his 50th birthday, renowned Kyogen performer Nomura Mansai tackles a bold new challenge: merging ancient Shinto ritual performance, known as Sanbaso, with modern technology. Collaborating with media artist Daito Manabe and others, Mansai explores whether this fusion can unlock deeper meaning and create a fresh artistic expression. The film documents the development of this project, examining the origins and essence of Sanbaso itself.
