Description:
"Lanier" is inspired by true events from Oscarville, Georgia, and follows a detective who uncovers disturbing secrets beneath Lake Lanier. While celebrating his daughter's birthday with his wife and daughter on a Lake Lanier getaway, Jeff Stevenson is drawn into a drowning case and begins working undercover with local detective Daniel Wilson. Jeff dismisses Daniel's theories about the lake being haunted and the history of Oscarville, a once-thriving Black community destroyed after the 1912 alleged rape and murder of Mae Crowe. However, as they investigate, Jeff becomes increasingly troubled by a series of events. His fears escalate when three masked strangers break into his home, forcing him and his family to fight for their lives.
